Please read the email below from Memorial Middle School regarding Friday's semi formal dance:

8th Grade Families,

We are now only a few days away from our annual 8th-grade dance. As was mentioned in my previous communication to you, the dance is going to look a little different this year based on COVID 19 protocol. With that said, I wanted to go over a few specifics one last time so you can prepare for Friday.

  • The 8th Grade Dance is this Friday 5/14 at Memorial School from 6:30-9:30 pm.
  • Students from both Spotswood and Milltown will be in attendance.
  • Tickets are not required, however, all students in attendance must have turned in a signed permission slip
  • The dance will be an outdoor/ indoor event meaning that the primary gathering place will be outside on the basketball court. There will be a tent. Doors to the inside will be open to access bathrooms and the gymnasium if needed based on weather.
  • Drop-off and Pick-up will take place in front of Memorial School by the flagpole (outside the fence)
  • Temperatures will be taken upon arrival and an electronic COVID screening form will be shared the day of the event.
  • Masks MUST be worn at all times (except when eating)
  • Food will be available and distributed following all COVID guidelines

*IMPORTANT* Social distancing will be attempted to the best ability feasible given the nature of the event. While chaperones will attempt to disperse or space out large gatherings of student attendees, the possibility remains that your child may be in close contact with other attendees. With the procedures that are in place, we feel that this event is as safe of an environment as possible. That being said, should you or your child be at all uncomfortable with attending the event, it remains your choice to stay home.
