Parents/Guardians:
I hope this finds you well and surrounded by your loved ones today as we grasp the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas. Our hearts go out to those families who are suffering through the shock and grief. It is times like these that coming together in unity has never been more important.
Please be assured that our district has continued to adhere to high standards for safety and security. Most notably with the recent addition of Mr. Bobby Boston our School Safety Monitor, who is with us full time. We continue to work in full cooperation with the Milltown Police Department. In speaking with Chief Knelle this morning, he explained that there will be an increased police presence at our schools in the wake of this event. This is as much a show of solidarity and strength, as it is an additional precaution.
Our teachers were provided with resources to assist them in supporting students in the classroom, as appropriate. Our full team of school counselors are well prepared to support the social and emotional needs of our students. Please reach out to your child’s teacher or our counselors, Mrs. Murray or Ms. Weintraub to let them know if your child is experiencing distress in the coming days.
