Weekly Update from Mr. Veit

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Good afternoon! We hope this finds you and your families healthy and well!

Here are a few notes form the week:

1. Genesis will open for report card viewing today at 3 pm. We are very proud of the effort put forth by the students this quarter. We are endlessly appreciative of the support the students have received from all of you at home, and as an administration, we are thankful to all the teachers for their continued efforts in the face of challenge.

2. As we progress through the month of April, mandatory afternoon remote work will continue. As a reminder, your child is assigned a core subject area on specific days coupled with a special subject area to attend once academic work is completed. In addition, students are meeting with their teachers about their MAP testing action plans during these afternoons. Please refer to the website and/or previous communications in Parent Square related to the April afternoon schedule if needed.

3. We are excited that this year's school musical, Annie Jr. has begun rehearsals outside on the JK grounds! We look forward to this production, and seeing our talented thespians in action!

4. As per yesterday's communication regarding the JK playground during after school hours, please advise your children that if they are at the JK playground and students other than those that attend JK (possibly HS students) are present and acting inappropriate, our students should remove themselves from the situation, and seek assistance, and inform myself or Mrs. Citro the following day.

5. There will be no NJSLA testing this spring, however there will be a state assessment administered this fall. There will be more details for parents on this in the coming months.

6. Next week we will be celebrating Diversity Week here in Milltown Public Schools. Learning about and appreciating differences is important to a child's social-emotional development and in particular their social awareness. Please watch for your child's teacher to let them know the next day's way of showing their culture and individuality.

With roughly 8 and 1/2 weeks left of school, and the 4th quarter of study beginning, I want to again thank everyone for their efforts during this unique school year. We are looking to make the most of these remaining weeks as we continue to plan and cultivate what is necessary to continue the process of preparing our students for High School and beyond.

Have a great weekend!

Be well,
Mr. Veit
