Reopening Plan Information

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Entering the second semester, we are excited to begin to see a trend toward overcoming some of the challenges we have faced in the first half of the school year. Our school buildings are open and our teachers and students are in the classrooms enjoying each other in-person again. Our athletic programs have begun and our coaches and players are excited to be competing. Many of our clubs are running and we are planning for our school play, science fair, and variety show.

As we move forward with positive health metrics and the roll-out of vaccines, our transition to on-site learning will continue to expand. We recognize the importance of being at school full time on a daily basis for our students. It continues to be a top priority to have our students back to a normal schedule as quickly as possible in a safe, responsible manner to provide for their academic progress and their social emotional health.

A plan for transitioning all students to 4 days a week on-site with an extended daily instructional schedule during the months of March and April will be presented at the Board meeting on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021. The meeting begins at 6:30PM, and the link can be found on the district website at www.milltownps.org>district>Board of Education>Agendas/Minutes. A more detailed explanation will be communicated following the Board meeting.

We are mindful of the stress that both COVID-19 and the changes to our traditional school circumstances continue to have on our families. District leaders are working to ensure that we transition smoothly into the next phase of in-person learning. As always, your patience and partnership in these challenging times is appreciated and valued.

Yours in education,

Dr. Stephanie Brown
Superintendent
