Weekly Update from Mr. Veit

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Good afternoon! We hope everyone is healthy and well, and we hope you are all ready for Super Bowl Sunday! I am pulling for my fellow middle aged counterpart, Tom Brady, and the Bucs! Not so much because I like them or him, but because seeing Brady out there at 43 years old getting it done at a high level gives me hope! Especially with the possibility of more snow shovelling in the future. If he can do it, I can shovel heavy snow! I hope you all enjoy the game and the commercials!

We are SO EXCITED to welcome back our students in the hybrid model next week! We are prepared, energized, and most importantly, thrilled to see the students! Below are a few reminders as it relates to the upcoming week:

1. Please refer to the January 28th Parent Square communication, or the recently posted video also on Parent Square (and Google Classroom - Mr. Veit and Mrs. Citro's JK Information Hub) should you have any questions related to what school will look like for your children upon their return. These communications provide the most detailed information related to the reopen.

2. Please be sure to call the attendance line if your child is going to be absent. Notifying the child's teacher does not suffice and could lead to receiving an attendance call unnecessarily.

3. Please be aware that moving forward, notifications related to Covid cases within the school will come first as an overall notification, and then a specific follow up in the event your child was a close contact. If you do not receive a follow up communication after receiving the overall notice, your child was not a close contact. Previously, there had been additional notifications as a courtesy, however, those are no longer going to be issued.

We are excited to begin the process of regaining some normalcy. We are enthused at the challenges it will bring, and the growth we will all experience because of facing those challenges. I thank you all again for your support, patience, and understanding. As we begin the next chapter of this experience, we do so as a JK, and MIlltown family!

Be well,
Mr. Veit
