Dear Parents and Guardians,
Good afternoon! We are enthused and excited by the news that we will not only be returning on February 1st and 8th to the hybrid model, but also that we will be providing the students movement within their schedules! This came, as Dr. Brown said, after careful consideration of multiple sources of feedback, safety concerns, and academic concerns (in no particular order).
We will be providing more detailed information related to how the daily and weekly cohort schedules will work on Friday afternoon.
It is important to note that if this news has altered your decisions about your child attending school in person either way, to notify the Joyce Kilmer main office as soon as possible. If you are opting your child into a hybrid learning cohort, please do so by this Friday. Please be aware that we will assign your child to either cohort A or B, as we must be conscious of the number in each cohort. Exiting your child from an in person cohort can occur at any time.
It is also important to note that our attention to those students remaining remote, if fully, or in their cohorts, will continue to receive excellent virtual instruction as they, and the teachers have done nothing but improve in this new medium.
We are happy to safely take this step and we are encouraged that this will be the first of many that will bring us to normalcy!
More information to come Friday, but in the meantime, please tell those children we can't wait to see them!
Be well,
Mr. Veit
