A Message from Mr. Veit

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we continue to monitor and adjust instruction given the ever changing conditions and stakeholder feedback, we wanted to share the following:

1. We will be looking to earmark Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons for teacher office hours, and scheduled 1 to 1 student assistance moving forward. We will look to utilize this time to address specific students that have been having trouble, and to address any other student issues that can be assisted with time in teacher office hours. Teachers will have either 2 days of office hours and 1 day of scheduled 1 to 1 assistance, or, 2 days of 1 to 1 assistance and 1 day of office hours depending on specific student needs. Teachers will provide parents a schedule for the afternoons of these days as Tuesdays and Fridays will remain earmarked for teacher to teacher meetings, planning time, training, and articulation.

2. In addition to more targeted efforts on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons, the special area teachers (Senorita Metz, Mr. Copperthwaite, Mrs. Hengeli , and Mrs. Rademacher) will have scheduled additional student activities in the afternoons 5 days per week. There will be 2 time slots each day from 1:30 to 2:00pm and 2:15 to 2:45pm (with the exception of Tuesdays at 1:30 pm). These sessions will be open to all students and consist of various activities and special area extensions fit for all students. Attached is the schedule of open special area extension classes. If your child is not attending teacher office hours, or 1 to 1 time, they are welcome to join any of these afternoon classes! All are welcome!

These activities will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, December 9th.

Again, teachers will provide a schedule of the days for office hours and 1 to 1 / small group, and special area teacher activity links can be found in the After School Special Area Enrichment  Google Classroom (Code -  3bo3gqq). Please note that Mrs. Hengeli shared her links directly with students already.

Be well!
Mr. Veit
