Weekly Update from Mr. Veit

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope everyone is healthy and well, and we hope all are remaining safe as we approach the holiday next week!

Here are some notes for this week:

1. Teacher Return to JK - This past Tuesday, teachers returned to the building after being remote since last Friday. This proved to assist with instruction as teachers were once again able to teach from their smart televisions thus they were able to host and conduct full class meets with less interruption and drops. The building was cleaned deeply on Friday, over the weekend, and again on Monday. Students will remain remote until November 30th as to mitigate the spread of the virus among them given last week's situations.

2. Conferences and Report Cards - We would like to thank everyone for your participation and understanding in yet another first for JK, virtual conferences. We appreciate your flexibility as most conferences were done via phone unless otherwise specified by parent or teacher. We want to remind everyone that communication should always be ongoing, and should anyone need to contact a staff member, you can call or email with any questions or concerns. Report cards were made available just ahead of conferences, so if you haven't already, please go to the Genesis portal to view your child's report card and progress. If anyone is having trouble with Genesis, please contact the technology help desk.

3. Wednesdays - We hope that the increased academic load being newly provided on Wednesdays is proving beneficial to student academic performance. Please remind your children to take advantage of the open meets being conducted by teachers on Wednesdays from 10 am to 12:40 pm. This time is there for conferencing and academic assistance.

4. Next Week - Next week will run as it normally would as Monday and Tuesday will be academic days with students attending periods 1-9 virtually on the early release schedule, and Wednesday will again run as it has the past 2 weeks with a student advisory meeting followed by posted teacher assignments and open teacher meets.

Unless there is a reason to communicate with you all next week, my Thanksgiving gift to you all is not having to read another week's end communication from me. I am very thankful for, and appreciative of, all the hard work and patience you have had while working with your children, and with us throughout this process. We do have a ways to go, but I still believe we will come through this challenge together, and we will wind up stronger then when we started. We wish you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving

Be well,
Mr. Veit
