Weekly Update from Mr. Veit

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Good afternoon! We hope everyone had a great week, and we hope that the weather trends warmer as the snow is almost completely gone, and spring is in the air!

We have had a great week with the "A" and "B" cohorts mixed for 4 days of in person instruction! Seeing the students in person, and having their collective energy and enthusiasm throughout the building again has been wonderful.

As we look forward to next week, and to spring recess, please make note of the following:

  • As per the communication yesterday, face shields will now be optional for all students while face masks remain a requirement.
  • All classroom desks will soon be outfitted with desk shields. Most are already equipped, but any that aren't will soon be.
  • Please be sure to continue to fill out the daily student health screenings, keep your children home if they aren't feeling well, and continue to practice good, healthy habits as in order to remain open, we must remain vigilant.
  • Please be reminded that if your child is slated for in person learning, and they are absent, they may still log on virtually, but the absence will still be recorded.
  • Please note that this Wednesday, March 24th is the last day to inform the JK main office if you are interested in bringing your child back for in person learning beginning on April 6th.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Nurse Conger on this Student Council driven theme Friday, "Wear White to Support our School Nurse." Nurse Conger is not only an amazing health care provider, but also a valued and integral part of our school and community. THANK YOU Nurse Conger for all that you do, have done, and continue to do every day!

I'd also like to again thank all the parents and caregivers of our JK Family. As we continue to forge on, debate procedures and policies, and together seek the best path for our children in these uncharted waters, it is important to say, that despite varying opinions based on varying needs and insights, we are happy to all still share in the common goal of serving our students while safely caring for those teachers and staff that care for them each and every day!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Be well,
Mr. Veit
