WELCOME to 6th grade Math!

My name is Kathy McCarthy and I am honored to teach your children.

I have taught middle school math for 15 years here in Milltown.  Prior to that I had a career as a CPA and a full-time mom raising three children right here in Milltown.

 

CLASS DESCRIPTION: 

Sixth grade math focuses on an introduction to solving problems algebraically, solving ratios and proportions and a continuance of the development of computational skills for decimals, fractions and percents.

 

The honors program covers all of the 6th grade curriculum  in addition to extensions on those topics including 7th grade standards. 

 

Grading:  The grading structure for all classes is as follows:

TESTS 40%

HOMEWORK 15%

QUIZZES  25%

CLASSWORK  20%
